About

Hi, I'm Jane!

I blog, I write, I craft, I have a penchant for pink, I'm a super-taster with sensitive skin, and I l♥ve strawberry lip balm.

Oh, and apparently, I'm allergic to beeswax??

Until I was 28, I never had allergies. I'd never had any kind of food allergies, medication allergies, pet allergies, seasonal allergies, or any kind of indoor or outdoor allergies. It was hard to determine and then accept that I had somehow suddenly developed allergies. I still feel like, "What??"

Especially difficult was that I had developed an allergy to beeswax, which is in virtually every lip balm.

This puts a serious dent in my strawberry lip balm-loving, "just a ChapStick kind of girl" style. I don't wear lipstick at all and rarely wear lip gloss. When I developed an allergy to beeswax, suddenly I couldn't use any of my lip balm anymore. This sounds stupid, but Bonne Bell, Blistex, and EOS balms were very simple pleasures that I took for granted... so giving them up really affected my life!

Vegan balms are the answer to my prayers. I'm not vegan, but after my terrible experiences with allergic reactions, I don't think I can ever trust a lip product with beeswax again. Since discovering that there are beeswax-free lip balms out there, mainly found in the woolly wilds of the internet, I've been on a never-ending quest to find balms that I love to use.

I want to find lip balms that don't make me feel like I'm missing out and that I've lost something I really used to enjoy. I don't want to cast longing looks at LipSmackers or Smith's or those tempting EOS balms. I'm on a mission to find vegan, beeswax-free lip balms that are scented, flavored, or even better -- both!

I started this blog because I find that I have a lot of opinions on the vegan lip balms I'm trying, but no one to share my findings with. So I'll share them with you!!
